Ilyushin 62

For many years the elegant looking IL-62 was the standard long range aircraft of Aeroflot and other Eastern Europe airlines. About 250 planes were built and there is still a small number of them in service.

The wing’s especially designed leading edge gives outstanding low speed characteristics for the modelplane. Also engine failure handling is easy because of the close to fuselage mounted engines and the large vertical stabilizer. One might say that the IL-62 is the best start-up airliner model. The all-moving horizontal stabilizer provides good pitch control at all speeds.
